"Everything was perfect - we were welcomed and shown to our lovely room, complete with fresh fruit, free bottled water etc. The room (7) was spotlessly clean and looked out over the garden. The bathroom was lovely and modern and also spotless, with a complementary array of organic products to use in refillable bottles, Pure Lakes I think they were called. The bed was really comfy and although it had a padded cover (which I'm usually not keen on since you often wonder how often they are changed), you could tell it was clean and smelled fresh. Even the carpet was immaculate, right up to the skirting boards - I hate it when you stay in a hotel and the carpet has a rim of dirt and dust at the edges."

Taken over in 2005 by Richard and Dee Slade, Battlesteads has quickly gained a reputation for its character and warm welcome as a friendly, family run hotel.

Battlesteads has 17 en-suite rooms with colour television, DVD, freeview, ironing boards and hairdryer, all have been carefully modernised to provide comfortable accommodation. Four ground floor rooms have facilities for the disabled and are within easy, level, access of the bar, restaurant and parking.
Broadband access is available in all rooms. Pets are welcome (by prior arrangement).
