Details
Visit Battlesteads Observatory and enjoy an introduction to stargazing under the twinkling stars of Northumberland on the edge of the largest expanse of protected dark skies in Europe – the Northumberland International Dark Sky Park.
Family Stargazing is aimed at families with young wannabee astronomers who're interested in learning how to find interesting objects to observe - including some of the brighter stars, our Moon, the Interational Space Station, Constellations and more! If you've got a tablet or smartphone we'll help you set up some simple stargazing apps and show you how to use them too.
During the winter months the observatory warm room is kept cosy and with hot drinks available; this simply is the best and most comfortable way to be introduced to the dark starry skies of Northumberland.
